Description & Application
Itaconic Acid (methylene succinic acid) is a crystalline, high melting acid produced commercially by fermentation of corn starch. Itaconic acid has performance advantages to polymeric coatings. These advantages include better emulsion stability, greater adhesion to substrates and improved flow properties of the formulated coating. Itaconicacid is applicable for latexes and emulsion polymers making in textile, carpet, non-woven and paper etc..
